No demo controls in Rocket Arena 3
This is a known problem with Rocket Arena 3 (RA3). You will have to load the config manually by typing '/exec seismovision.cfg' into the console. (Get the console by pressing tilde (~))
Demo play breaks up on count down in Rocket Arena 3
Setting 'cg_autoaction' to 0 seems to fix the problem.
What is the SD3 demo type?
The demo type sd3 belongs to the Quake3 Server Demo Center and is not normally part of Quake 3 Arena. It can be downloaded at http://skuller-vidnoe.narod.ru/en/index.htm. Q3SDC is Copyright (c) 2003, Andrey N. aka [SkulleR]
"Q3SDC is a special system allowing you to record demos right from server and play them on server, too. The recording process doesn't affect server clients - they won't even be aware of it. Playing demos will be absolutely "unnoticeable" for Quake3 server system and for clients - they won't need to install any additional files to connect to demo playing server.
The demos are recorded in binary files with .sd3 extension, reminding of the usual "dm_48" demos format. Q3SDC writes the complete information about the current level, which allows to reconstruct the positions of all players and objects on server.
To play demos, clients connect to server as spectators and can freely move across the level, watch selected player in viewcam mode (like in OSP) or watch the game from any player's POV."

You
can also use Seismovision as a version converter. For instance, at the World
Cyber Games 2002 the GTV (spectator) servers where all using v1.31 while the
latest version was v1.32. Almost everyone had that version installed and could
not connect to the GTV server. Normally you either had to downgrade or install
another copy of Quake 3 with that version. Since the beginning of Seismovision
the manual version converter feature existed. Open Seismovision and
right-click on the Quake 3 Arena status (Depending how you configured it you
should normally click the status bar responsible for dm_68). A popup menu pops
up. Select 'Convert to' and then select the desired version.
